No Bake Brain Bombs

Okay, these brain bombs are the BOMB! Packed full of healthy carbs, proteins and fat…they will feel your kids’ brains so that they think clearer and aren’t rummaging the cabinets looking for junk. These are around 100 calories a pop, so either make the bombs smaller and have two or just keep in mind you can’t eat the whole batch. You can put them in the freezer in parties of 2 and pull them out to thaw before your mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack.

Make them with a seed butter (sunflower butter) for a school-friendly, allergen-friendly snack.

A hint with these:

  1. Buy your flaxseed whole and grind up (coffee grinder or food processor) right before you put them in. Flaxseed oil will go rancid quickly once exposed to air. You will reap the benefits of fiber by purchasing already ground flaxseed, but you won’t get the healthy omega’s that protect your brain, heart, the works!

  2. Use these as protein shake bombs. Throw 1-2 in your protein shake for a pre-made addition of protein, seeds, oats and a sweetener.

  3. For additional protein, you can add 1 scoop of a protein powder to the recipe.

  4. Try dried fruit, chopped nuts, pretty much anything goes with these.
