Which insurance plans do you accept for appointments?
We accept Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBS RI), UnitedHealthcare, and some Aetna and Cigna plans for appointments. Please confirm your specific plan and benefits before starting. Coverage may differ by provider and appointment type; copays, deductibles, and coinsurance may apply.
Will my health insurance cover my GLP-1, HRT or peptides?
In this program, GLP-1 medications, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and peptide treatments are self-pay and are not billed through insurance. Medication costs are separate from appointment and lab charges, which may be submitted to insurance.
How much should I expect to pay for my GLP-1, HRT or peptides?
As a preliminary monthly budgeting estimate, allow approximately $140–$200 for compounded semaglutide and $170–$280 for compounded tirzepatide. These are general estimates, not a confirmed quote for your prescription. Our team can confirm your actual medication cost before you order.
Starting doses may cost less. When the pharmacy prices GLP-1 medication by dose, a lower starting dose generally costs less, and the price may increase if your medical provider increases your prescribed dose. Some pharmacies use flat-rate pricing instead. Your actual cost depends on the medication, dose, formulation, pharmacy, quantity supplied, and any shipping or other fees.
HRT and peptides are priced individually. The specific medication, formulation, dose, and treatment schedule determine the cost. Ask our team for a personalized quote before starting any medication and when your prescription changes.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not Ozempic or Zepbound. Your medical provider determines whether a compounded prescription is appropriate for your individual needs. Learn more from the FDA.
Will my labs be submitted to insurance?
Yes. Labs will be submitted to your insurance. Submission does not guarantee coverage: your plan determines which tests are covered and whether a deductible, copay, or coinsurance applies. Please confirm your lab benefits and any out-of-pocket costs with your insurer.
Am I expected to attend every appointment?
Yes. Patients are expected to attend all scheduled medical-provider and Registered Dietitian appointments, as well as weekly group sessions. Consistent participation supports ongoing monitoring and follow-through. If you cannot attend, contact the team as soon as possible to arrange next steps.
What do I need to complete each week?
Complete your weekly progress form, including your weight, symptoms, and any other updates requested by your care team. These check-ins help your team understand your progress and identify concerns to discuss. Contact your care team directly about new or worsening symptoms rather than waiting for the next weekly form.
How should I prepare for my first visit?
Activate your Healthie account and complete your intake forms. Have your medication and supplement list, allergies, health history, recent labs, and insurance information ready. Bring your questions and one or two goals you would like help with.
When are the weekly classes, and are recordings available?
Classes meet live on Zoom on Mondays at 7 p.m. for 75 minutes over 12 weeks. Register for your Zoom links and check the time zone in your confirmation. Sessions are not recorded. Contact the team as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
How do I contact my care team between visits?
Use the approved team communication channel, including Healthie as directed. Our usual response time is within 24 business hours. Contact the team directly about new or worsening symptoms; do not wait for your weekly form. Portal messages are not monitored for emergencies. Call 911 for a medical emergency.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice. You can manage appointments in Healthie under Sessions or call (401) 398-2454 for help. Late cancellations, late rescheduling, or no-shows may incur a $100 fee charged to the card on file. A no-show or more than one late cancellation or reschedule results in discharge from the program; emergency exceptions are at the provider’s discretion.
How far ahead should I request a refill?
Request refills at least 48 business hours before you need them, using the method your team provides. A visit or lab review may be required first. Pharmacy processing and shipping can take additional time. Contact your prescriber or dispensing pharmacy with medication-specific questions.
Will I need a scale or other monitoring devices?
Your team will explain which measurements or devices are useful for your care, how often to use them, and how to report results. Not every patient needs every device. If you use a RENPHO scale, it syncs with the RENPHO Health app; do not assume readings automatically transfer to Healthie. Follow your team’s reporting instructions.
How will we measure progress beyond weight?
Your goals may include energy, sleep, daily activity, confidence, and sustainable routines. Your provider may also review selected labs or measurements when appropriate. Together, you will decide which changes are meaningful to you. Results vary by individual.
Are program fees, devices, and supplements included?
Ask for an itemized explanation of any program or class fees and the costs of devices, supplies, supplements, or materials before enrolling. These may be separate from appointments, medications, and labs. Your personalized quotes and financial documents explain your actual costs.
What happens after the 12 weeks?
You and your team will review your progress and plan next steps. Before the program ends, confirm future appointments, medication monitoring, refill arrangements, ongoing services, and costs. Group sessions and program access do not continue automatically.
